Understanding Our Spiritual Journey
If you seek a deeper meaning in life—if you long to uncover your true purpose—consider it a calling: a gentle nudge from within, inviting you to embark on your spiritual journey. Identifying the eight forces of your spiritual journey, and learning how to embody their energy, will reveal the wisdom and understanding behind your past, present, and future experiences. This clarity can help release suppressed emotions, heal old traumas, and move you further along your path to fulfill your soul’s growth.
When working with numerology to identify these forces, we never reduce beyond 22 unless the force specifically requires a single digit. This is essential. Reducing past 22—when not required—excludes Divine Energies that are vital to understanding the human states of consciousness and our journey on the physical-material realm.
The eight forces of the spiritual journey each reveal a layer of guidance that supports the soul’s growth:
- Path Year: The year when your spiritual path is first revealed to you.
- Generation Force: The shared spiritual theme of your generation.
- Life Purpose Force: Your core values and beliefs.
- Grounding Force: The energy that keeps you aligned and grounded.
- Assisting Force: The divine energy that shapes your experiences and encounters.
- Year of Life Force: The divine energy you are called to embody throughout your personal year of life.
- Yearly Lesson Force: The lesson you are called to learn each year.
- Zodiac Force: Your natural expression in the physical-material realm.
- Daily Guidance Force: The divine energy present within a specific calendar date.
Path Year
The Path Year is the year when our spiritual path is first revealed to us. It is an experience that offers a glimpse into the spiritual journey awaiting us, revealing the path that supports our soul’s growth. It marks the moment we first feel connected to something deeper, awakening an inner knowing that there is more to life than the physical-material realm.
Calculating your Path Year:
- Add your birth day and birth month as whole numbers. Example: If your birthdate is May 6 1986 → Month = 5, Day = 6 → 5 + 6 = 11.
- Add that result to your birth year as a whole number. Example: 11 + 1986 = 1997.
- Path Year = 1997.
- Do not reduce the day, month, or year individually. Add them as whole numbers.
Generation Force
The Generation Force reveals the divine theme that shapes the spiritual journey of an entire generation. It shows how divine energies evolve to guide humanity towards higher states of consciousness. This force highlights a shared spiritual focus and a collective path of growth and awakening.
Calculating your Generation Force:
- Divide your Path Year by 22. Example: 1997 ÷ 22 = 90.7727…
- If the result includes any decimal, round up to the next whole number. Example: 90.7727… → Round up to 91.
- Continue reducing until the result is 22 or below. Example: 91 → 9 + 1 = 10.
- Generation Force = X Wheel of Fortune.
Life Purpose Force
The Life Purpose Force reveals our core values and beliefs—the divine blueprint of who we are and the mission our soul is meant to fulfill. It guides our thoughts, actions, and choices, aligning us with the path that nurtures our growth and serves others. This force is the compass of our spiritual journey, awakening the deeper purpose behind every experience we encounter.
Calculating your Life Purpose Force:
- Continue reducing your Path Year until the result is 22 or below. Example: 1997 → 1 + 9 + 9 + 7 = 26 → 2 + 6 = 8.
- Life Purpose Force = VIII Strength.
Grounding Force
The Grounding Force helps us remain aligned with our Life Purpose Force. It helps us remain grounded on the path that fulfills our soul’s growth.
Calculating your Grounding Force:
- Continue reducing your Life Purpose Force until the result is 9 or below. Example: 8 → 8.
- Grounding Force = VIII Strength.
- If your Life Purpose Force is already a single digit, your Grounding Force will share the same divine energy.
Assisting Force
All experiences and encounters that manifest throughout our journey on the physical-material realm are shaped by the Assisting Force—a divine energy that ensures every moment serves the growth of our soul. We should never restrain ourselves from having these experiences.
- From ages 7 to 29, we pass through our Shadow Years—powerful experiences that often give birth to our fears, traumas, and inner demons.
- From ages 30 to 39, we enter our Learning Years—powerful experiences that help us learn, heal, and grow from both our previous physical and spiritual experiences.
- At age 40, our true Spiritual Journey begins. It is then that we are called to embody the wisdom gained through experience, having faced and overcome the trials of our earlier years.
If no Assisting Force is assigned, our experiences are not shaped by a singular divine energy. Instead, they unfold in a more fluid, unbound, and diverse manner, still serving the sacred purpose of our soul’s growth.

Year of Life Force
The Year of Life Force reveals the divine energy we are called to embody to successfully complete our Yearly Lesson. It begins on our birthday and ends the day before our next birthday. It is calculated by adding 1 to our current age (we add 1 because the Year of Life Force reflects the year of life we are beginning, not the years we have completed).
Calculate your Year of Life Force:
- Add 1 to your current age. Example: 39 + 1 = 40.
- If the result is above 22, reduce the result. Example: 40 → 4 + 0 = 4 (if the result is 22 or below, do not reduce).
- Year of Life Force = IV The Emperor.
Yearly Lesson Force
The Yearly Lesson Force identifies the powerful lesson we must learn each year. It also begins on our birthday and ends the day before our next birthday. The yearly lessons are major experiences that help us move further along the path that fulfills our soul’s growth.
A great experience will occur that will change the course of our life when the Life Purpose Force occurs as the Yearly Lesson Force or as the Year of Life Force. This new path can either be filled with positive or negative experiences but will always remain aligned with the path that fulfills our soul’s growth. We can also gain great wisdom and understanding from our past experiences by identifying the Year of Life Force and the Yearly Lesson Force for each experience. This is a great learning exercise as we will be associating personal experiences with the twenty-two divine energies.
Calculate your Yearly Lesson Force:
- Add your current age to your Path Year. Example: 39 + 1997 = 2036.
- Continue reducing until the result is 22 or below. Example: 2036 → 2 + 0 + 3 + 6 = 11.
- Yearly Lesson Force = XI Justice.

Daily Guidance Force
The Daily Guidance Force is the divine energy present within a specific calendar date. This energy is tied to the date itself—not to any individual—and may influence events, emotions, or realizations throughout the day. When the Daily Guidance Force matches one of our forces (Life Purpose Force, Grounding Force, Assisting Force, Year of Life Force, Yearly Lesson Force, or Zodiac Force), we will experience something that will reveal great wisdom and understanding.
Calculate the Daily Guidance Force:
- Add the day and month as whole numbers. Example: If the date is August 2 2025 → 2 + 8 = 10.
- Add that result to the year as a whole number. Example: 10 + 2025 = 2035.
- Continue reducing until the result is 22 or below. Example: 2035 → 2 + 0 + 3 + 5 = 10.
- Daily Guidance Force = X Wheel of Fortune.
- Do not reduce the day, month, or year individually. Add them as whole numbers.
